It’s the little changes that can be life-changing

When I say we need to make ourselves open to possibility, I’m not just talking about those big life decisions about where we’re going and where we want to be. Often, new possibilities can be found from day to day.

Like this one: What do you want?

This isn’t one of those deep, big-picture questions, but a very simple one: What do you want? What would make a big difference to you or your work right now?

I ask, because I think too often we put off allowing ourselves to have something we want. And I speak from experience.

By finally opening myself to opportunities, I found I could use speaking, use the power of my voice, to spread my message, help people and build the multiple six-figure business and globetrotting lifestyle I always wanted.

That was the big decision. My success has also been the result of countless smaller decisions that I make all the time.

Like this one: For the longest time I wanted a personal assistant – not just a team member I worked with online, but an in-person, personal assistant. But I had a team and put that thought aside … or tried to.

Still, I kept thinking about the value of having someone with me as I worked, someone who could document what I’m up to, support my work and do things I really don’t want to do but they would enjoy doing. And I wanted to do it in a way that would let us see how things go without a big commitment up front.

So, a couple of weeks ago I put it out into the universe that this is what I was available for: Someone who was creative, fun, savvy, who wanted to be here in Donegal with me and who was interested in learning more about what I do.

And I found her. Her email to me made me feel as though she was exactly who I was looking for, and we really connected when we spoke on the phone.

She’s coming to Donegal next week to spend the next six weeks working with me on the next project I’m cooking up. I’m so grateful.

What's something you want, that if you allowed yourself to have it would make a big difference to your life, and give you more time and space for the things that are important to you?

What’s keeping you from having it?

Everything we do for our business helps us fuel the lifestyle we want to achieve.

I’m afraid that too often people think of it backwards: It’s as if they become the fuel for their business growth. I’ve always looked at it the other way – the business is the fuel that propels my lifestyle. As the old saying tells us, it’s about working to live, not living to work.

Yes, I love what I do. Still, I see it as allowing me to live the life I love. Both are possible. I’d say both are crucial.

Here’s another thing. I set myself a mission to appear on 100 podcasts this year. I have done 31 so far, with another 30 booked, so I’m on my way. I’m also always looking out for more opportunities, so if you have any ideas, hit me up.

My goal was originally 30 podcasts for the year, but I thought to myself: What would be an explosive goal that would stretch me to show up even more? That’s when I came up with 100. Podcasts are a great way to get your message out into the world, to build your reach, to hone your message and to share stories that inspire people.

But more than just being on podcasts, this is about who you become as a result of setting a goal and working toward it. The point is taking action toward the success and life you dream of, in order to get there as soon as possible.

My point is this: I’m not letting anything keep me from my goal. That’s my decision, to keep moving forward by taking the steps I need to take.

When the universe is calling to you, if you’re feeling called to do something, don’t wait.

This month I spoke before 120 entrepreneurs at Content Con, helping them see how their voice is their ticket to freedom in their business and their life. My colleague and friend Jessica Terzakis hosted the event – we met at an event years ago and have supported each other ever since.

That’s been a great blessing – the amazing clients and colleagues I’ve met since starting my business.

I’m making plans to go to the Dominican Republic in August for a working holiday – I’ll be attending a super high-level speaker training there with some of the best in our industry. I can’t wait to hear from the best on how I can do better.

We can always do better. We can always do more. What’s stopping us?

I think the biggest problem can be just not knowing what change we need to make, and I've learned it’s rarely big changes. Instead, it’s small changes every day.

I’ve put together some of the simplest, most profitable and powerful changes I've made that brought miraculous results as well as insights and shifts I’ve discovered building my business, income, lifestyle, and authority at the next Dial In Your Destiny challenge at the end of July.

I want to encourage you to stretch yourself to dream bigger. When you do, I guarantee your heart is going to be beating faster at the possibilities. Come join the challenge, you won’t be the same person by the end and you will be thinking so much bigger too!

The plans you make are what drive you to be energized about the business, much more than the work. The work can become routine, but the results are never boring.

What’s a stretch goal that you’re working on? What is your “100 podcasts” challenge to yourself?

Does it excite you? Then what’s stopping you?

There’s always more we can do. Let’s do it.
